My name is Scott. I live in Grand Rapids, MI. I am 22 years old, and am currently attending college. I am a huge supporter of new media, such as blogs and podcasts. I love <a href="http://democracynow.org/">Democracy Now!</a>, <a href="http://www.wearecitizenradio.com/">Citizen Radio</a>, and Dan Carlin's <a href="http://www.dancarlin.com/disp.php/hharchive">Hardcore History</a> as well as <a href="http://www.dancarlin.com/disp.php/csarchive">Common Sense</a>, to name a few. As far as mainstream media is concerned, the two people I consider the most credible are probably <a href="http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn_greenwald/">Glenn Greenwald</a> and <a href="http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/blogs/taibblog">Matt Taibbi</a>.<br /> I created this blog because I am shocked at the small amount of avenues available for true liberals to express themselves in the United States. The Democratic party is center-right at best, so even when we fight for our values through traditional outlets, such as voting, we end up with impotent and counterproductive representatives. My goal with this blog is to hold accountable all politicians and groups, regardless of affiliation, that support the current power structure and thereby guarantee the real liberal's constant under-representation.
